چکیده

Mobile devices are rapidly becoming the most popular user end computing and networking device. Mobile devices are often used to access and store personal information. Due to their size and portability, they are a common target for thieves and malicious activity. Unauthorized authentication of mobile devices can result in a great deal of damage to the legitimate owner. However, securing mobile devices is a challenge. Frequent access makes secret knowledge techniques cumbersome and inconvenient. Biometrics offers a promising solution, but there are many challenges for implementing biometrics on mobile devices. Much research is being done on making biometrics practical for authenticating users on mobile devices. However, device makers need to account for individual differences in characteristics used for biometric techniques as well as individual user needs and preferences in order for these techniques to be accepted and widely used. This paper proposes a framework that would help users determine best fit authentication options for their mobile device based on their personal needs, preferences, characteristics, and particular

Quality-Based Score-level Fusion for Secure and Robust Multimodal Biometrics-based Authentication on Consumer Mobile Devices

Biometric authentication is a promising approach to access control in consumer mobile devices. Most current mobile biometric authentication techniques, however, authenticate people based on a single biometric modality (e.g., iPhone 6 uses only fingerprints), which limits resistance to trait spoofing attacks and ability to accurately identify users under uncontrolled conditions in which mobile d...
